About this theme

About Cosmic Observatory

Cosmic Observatory transforms a Smithsonian Open Access celestial planisphere into a modern scientific-atlas abstraction. Sparse star points, fine orbital arcs, and a translucent ribbon become denser on the right while the left remains deep, mostly plain navy. Cool white text, muted blue-gray secondary text, and a clear blue accent continue the chart palette. Every title, number, constellation label, zodiac figure, border scale, and readable symbol from the source was removed.

Visual direction

A deep midnight-navy field with sparse stars, fine orbital arcs, and a translucent chart ribbon on the right.

What changes

  • Introduces a dark scientific-chart background rather than a fantasy galaxy scene.
  • Keeps star density and orbital geometry concentrated on the right.
  • Uses cool white primary text and muted blue-gray secondary text.
  • Applies a clear blue accent with subtly blue-violet borders on dark surfaces.

Who this theme suits

  • People who prefer scientific atlas imagery over mystical or cinematic space art.
  • Workspaces that suit midnight navy, sparse gold star points, and fine geometric lines.
  • Users seeking a spacious dark scene without a character or bright neon focal point.
